Inspired by the "wandering rocks" in James Joyce's 'Ulysses' and the colliding rocks associated with Istanbul, sunset melodrama explores forms of human encounter and the culture of living together. Where does the force come from that keeps us standing together and allows us to move forward? Drawing on motifs of the promenade movement in ballet, the performance seeks to sustain uninterrupted motion while generating a momentum that reaches beyond what we can touch.
